Company painting c.1850, Indian ceremonial scene with figures and animals, gouache on mica, Company paintings were painted by Indian artists for European patrons (named after the East India Company), 20 x 25 cm
Scratches, creases, splits and cracks to the mica sheet as pictured, mostly around the edges as well as the crack in the centre of the sheet, with hairlines in three directions visible more from the back.
Some loss in the paint surface.
