Chinese silk piano shawl, late 19th/ early 20th century embroidered with figures in front of a pagoda, plus birds and flowers on taupe coloured ground with deep fringe. Condition report available.

Overall the main body of silk is in good condition with no splits or shattered areas. Colours are vibrant with no obvious sun fade. there are numerous small defects including small marks, small stains, loose surface threads and repairs to the border where the fringe is stitched to main body of fabric.
Colour lends itself to more of a rich taupe. There are some loose threads and several small pin head size holes with some small areas of slight discolouration commensurate with age.
No major rips or tears.
Viewing in person recommended.
