From 6th January 2025, Gloucestershire County Council Highways alongside the Principal Contractor (Montel Civil Engineering) will be imposing a full 24 hour / 7 day a week road closure on the B4058 north-west of Wotton-Under-Edge (also known as Rushmire Hill) and Old London Road, to facilitate essential geotechnical remediation works. It is currently forecasted that the closure will be in place for 6 months. Whilst the closure is in place, a signed diversion route utilising B4060 (see below for map) will be implemented. The diversion route has been selected because it is the shortest route that matches the same classification, provides similar road width, and will also be able to accommodate the same type of vehicles as the closed road. Therefore, it is suggested that the diversion route is always used for diverted traffic and the use of smaller unclassified lanes (which your sat nav may send you) are not recommended to be used and should be avoided if possible. We highly recommend you use the official diversion route as the lanes around Wotton under Edge are very narrow and many are in a poor condition.
